About Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the area of healthcare that specalises in the treatment of conditions that cause a physical deficit. The main aim of physiotherapy is to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. Physiotherapy is also very effective in the area of reducing pain and pain management. It takes a holistic approach that involves the patient directly in their own care.

Physiotherapy is normally delivered either through movement and exercise therapy taking into account a person’s current level of health and their specific requirements, or manual therapy where the physiotherapist aids recovery by using their hands to relieve pain and stiffness, and encourage healing and normal function.
